Randers Sporting Director shares if Rangers make bid for Stephen Odey
Rangers or Celtic have not yet made an offer for striker Stephen Odey, confirms Randers FC Sporting Director Soren Pedersen.
According to All Nigeria Soccer, the two Glasgow clubs are vying for his services and Gers chief Ross Wilson already held preliminary talks over signing the 24-year-old.
While Rangers’ interest appears to be more concrete, they are still to table a bid with Pedersen claiming that anything is possible from now until the end of the window.

He told Danish media outlet Bold, “I have an offer on the table. We are happy for him and it is not something where we say that he should be sold in this window. He has a great sporting value, so if we were to say yes to something, it must be both the right club and the right amount.”
However, when asked specifically about the two SPFL clubs, he said, “It can happen easily. There are many clubs that have shown interest in him because he is a good player, but there is nothing concrete from there.”
Make a move?
Wilson appears to be testing the waters with initial talks and it will be too early for an official bid to be tabled.
It could also be that the Danish club or the player’s representatives are using Celtic’s name in order to quicken the pursuit from Gers’ end.
Knowing that their arch rivals are keen on the same player will make them submit an official bid without their due diligence.
Due to Champions League football, the Hoops could offer the Nigerian more money and of course, the chance to play in the biggest European competition.
It remains to be seen how this saga unfolds, but the fact that Pedersen did not deny Rangers’ interest suggests that they could really be in for his services this summer.
In other Rangers news, contract talks with a key player have hit a new impasse with a summer exit now on the cards.
