Manchester United stance on Rangers goalkeeper Robby McCrorie clarified
Manchester United are reportedly not pursuing a move for Rangers goalkeeper Robby McCrorie despite rumours to the contrary.
According to the Scottish Sun, the Red Devils are believed to be eyeing a summer move for the 24-year-old as one of their reserve keepers.
However, The 4th Official claims that there is no truth to that report and the Premier League giants are not interested in him.
He wrote, “We are at that stage where I am having to put out articles on Patreon that Robby McCrory to Manchester United is obviously not true.”
Cash in?
Rangers cannot afford to be keeping players like McCrorie on their payroll as he appears unlikely to ever break into the first team.
There were chances of that happening in the past, but it is not looking probable currently as he hasn’t developed in the last few years.
The club thought that sending him on loan would help, but that strategy clearly has not worked for either party.
He is now in the last year of his contract and this summer is the last window in which he will not be able to open talks with clubs elsewhere.
Gers know that he’s not going to fetch too much but he still will fetch them something and they’ve got to be proactive to get the deal done.
Whether Manchester United are interested or not, they must actively offer his services to other clubs.
In other Rangers news, contract talks with a key player have hit a new impasse with a summer exit now on the cards.
