Marvin Andrews addresses Calvin Bassey’s Rangers uncertainty with ‘big future’ view
Former Rangers ace Marvin Andrews has addressed Calvin Bassey’s Ibrox future amid the major uncertainty.
The Light Blues defender has received a lot of attention after he finished the season with a bang, notching Man of the Match awards in both the Europa League and Scottish Cup finals.
Despite a report by the London Evening Standard [11 June] that the left-back is “set to leave”, Andrews has insisted the club have made their mark on the player ahead of his bright future.

He told Glasgow Live: “It is very important, the defence. Big Goldson has been tremendous. Calvin Bassey is strong, athletic. He’s only 22 as well.
“If he can avoid any serious injuries then he can go on to have a very big future ahead of him. There’s a bit of interest but you were going to get that. They reached a European final and made their mark.”
Please stay.
Hopefully, Bassey makes the decision to stay in Glasgow for the 2022/23 season – at least.
You would have thought that the Gers fans would be used to their best players being stolen from them by now, but it never gets any easier.

As soon as one of their players shows just a glimmer of potential – they are snapped right, it’s a joke.
The Nigeria international contract doesn’t expire until 2024 which means Giovanni van Bronckhorst and co are in the driving seat with this one.
Only if they receive an offer high enough will he be allowed to leave and rightly so because he is a very good player – one that the Dutchman needs desperately.
If a high enough bid comes in for him over the summer, his sale should be considered – only if they can find a good enough replacement.
The rest of the money can be used to revamp the squad because it really does need a facelift. With that being said, hopefully, he stays.
