Borna Barisic could leave Rangers as clubs circle to sign him
Rangers defender Borna Barisic could leave the club in the summer, and it’s going to be a big decision for Giovanni van Bronkhorst in the coming weeks.
The Gers defender has been chased by several Turkish clubs, including Trabzonspor who seem to have made an official approach for him already [Fanatik, 11 June].
The Turkish newspaper have added that Trabzonspor are waiting for the “next reply” from Rangers.

It won’t be an easy decision to start with. There are several factors the Dutchman will probably consider.
Having secured contract extensions for Connor Goldson and Steven Davis, the Gers boss must decide whether they should allow Barisic to leave if they get a good offer.
Barisic has two more years left on his deal. Unless he gets a new deal from the club, it’s imperative, that he will consider his own benefit.
In fact, he admitted in a recent interview with RTL on 9 June that he could leave the club if there’s an offer that suits all parties involved.
Now, is he an indispensable asset for the club?

Barisic struggled to make an impact last season and was shocking in the 3-0 loss against Celtic in February.
Towards the end of the season, he returned to his best form and showed his class in the Europa League.
Calvin Bassey is most likely to play as a left-back, although he excelled in central defence as well.
Rangers will try their best to keep hold of Bassey but they will be powerless to prevent him from leaving if there’s a massive offer on the table.
In case, he moves on, it would be a foolish decision to let Barisic leave as well.
At the same time, Barisic can’t wait for an eternity to know what’s going to happen next with Bassey. This is a very delicate situation but there is a possibility that the Croatian international could move on.
