Rangers have not entered contract talks with Allan McGregor
Rangers have not yet entered contract negotiations with goalkeeper Allan McGregor over a deal to extend his Ibrox stay, according to Rangers Review.
The 40-year-old maintains a healthy relationship with the club’s officials off the pitch as well as manager Giovanni van Bronckhorst and there is still the possibility that he could pen a new deal in Glasgow.
But as of Tuesday (8 June), no such talks have taken place which leaves the Scotland international’s future in the game up in the air.

He is also not interested in taking up a coaching role with Rangers when his career finishes, whenever that may be, so when his contract does expire, he would likely be leaving the club for good.
The Daily Record previously reported on 7 June that the 40-year-old shot-stopper was already close to penning a new deal at Auchenhowie with a coaching incentive included in the deal.
Fresh start
As much as we all love McGregor at Rangers, we have to realise that he is now 40 years of age and we need to now start looking towards the future to some degree.
Jon McLaughlin has been very patient in waiting for his chance to be van Bronckhorst’s number one and has looked to step up to the mark on every appearance he’s made over the past 12 months.

Now has to be the time where we bid McGregor a fond farewell with a Scottish Cup winners medal in his pocket and invest in the next generation of young goalkeepers.
That doesn’t even have to be McLaughlin either as the beauty of football means there are always more top keepers than there are top clubs so one is usually available every transfer window.
It’s been a wonderful time, but it’s finally time for the big change for us to push on and become an even more well-rounded team.
In other Rangers news, a newly-promoted side on the continent are hoping to sell one of their exciting wingers and the Gers are among the clubs keen.
