Rangers very interested in Schalke winger Rabbi Matondo
Giovanni van Bronckhorst is making moves to improve his Rangers squad and Rabbi Matondo might be the next through the door.
According to Waz, the Schalke winger is piquing the interest of the Light Blues and they could be involved in an off-field Old Firm battle with Celtic also expressing an interest in the 21-year-old.
Schalke, who earned promotion back to the Bundesliga at the first time of asking in 2021-22, sent the 10-time Welsh international to Cercle Brugge last season but the Belgian side are not going to activate their option to buy clause.

Instead, the side from Gelsenkirchen have put Matondo on the transfer list which could open the door for van Bronckhorst to bring him to Ibrox.
With only 12 months left on his contract, teams from England and France are also said to be in the race for his signature but no specific teams are mentioned.
Potential
Like many wingers at such a young age, Matondo is a very raw player at the moment and he has a long way to go to polish his game to the standard of the Scottish Premiership.
But he has potential coming out of his ears and even if he’s a bit hit and miss, to begin with, he will eventually find some consistency and then he will set about tearing the league apart team by team.

With the Hoops also bidding to sign him, there is added importance on this deal because we cannot allow them to take one of our summer targets from under our nose no matter what.
Whatever the board and van Bronckhorst can offer the Welshman must be put in front of him because, given the time, he will go on to be a sensational player.
With Ryan Kent on one side and Alfredo Morelos through the middle, our lethal trio up top could finally be about to be complete if the 21-year-old rightly chooses Ibrox over Parkhead.
In other Rangers news, Ianis Hagi’s father, Gheorghe, has offered an update on his son’s injury recovery and it is not great viewing for any Gers fan.
