Rangers news: Kris Boyd reacts instantly as Celtic fan bangs on glass of Sky Sports studio

Kris Boyd was undeterred by a Celtic fan banging on a glass while he was talking on Sky Sports after Rangers’ 1-1 draw at Parkhead.

Fashion Sakala’s second-half goal earned a point for the Light Blues but it probably won’t be enough to stop Ange Postecoglou’s side from winning the Scottish Premiership title.

When Boyd was talking about how Celtic’s tactics changed in the second half, the ex-Gers striker was interrupted by a fan banging on the window.

“Just ignore it,” said Boyd on Sky Sports Main Event [1 May, 02:03pm].

“Some hero’s trying to make a name for themselves.”

As Boyd said, someone was just trying to make a name for themself after Celtic dropped points against Rangers on Sunday.

You couldn’t see the person’s face but he was obviously happy with the draw as you could see him gesturing behind the Sky Sports pundits in the studio prior to banging on the glass.

It’s harmless but you’d have thought that there would be stewards or something nearby to stop incidents like that happening because we all know what football fans can be like – even towards former players.

Rangers played well on Sunday.

Over the course of the game, we were perhaps the better team.

If we’d have made the most of a few other chances that came through Ryan Kent and Sakala, we’d have comfortably won and the title race might have still been alive.

Unfortunately, our bad finishing and a good save by Joe Hart meant that the Scottish Premiership title is basically Celtic’s now.

It hasn’t been good enough by Giovanni van Bronckhorst, in truth.

However, we have a cup final and a Europa League semi-final to look forward to.
