Chris Sutton tweets instant reaction to full-time in Rangers draw v Celtic

Celtic are “one step closer” to winning the Scottish Premiership title after Rangers drew 1-1 at Parkhead on Sunday, according to Chris Sutton.

Fashion Sakala’s second-half goal earned the Gers a point in the final Old Firm derby of the season.

However, it probably won’t be enough to stop Ange Postecoglou’s men from beating the Light Blues to the Scottish league title.

“Great game,” said Sutton via his personal Twitter account on 1 May in an instant reaction to the full-time whistle.

“Celtic comfortable draw in the end. I need a lie down.

“One step closer”

League over?

It’ll be a massive shock if Rangers are able to claw this back and win the title now.

It might be the biggest bottle job in history if Celtic were to lose this now.

There are three games left to play and Celtic are six points clear of second-placed Rangers.

However, Giovanni van Bronckhorst does have a lot to play for between now and the end of the season.

Rangers still have a Scottish Cup final to play and they also still have a Europa League semi-final to complete against RB Leipzig.

We’re still in the tie against the Germans after only losing 1-0 away.

Winning that would be the biggest achievement in Scottish football for a very, very long time.

And doing that and winning the Scottish Cup would be as close to a successful season van Brockhorst could hope for now.
