Aaron Ramsey posts message on Twitter after Rangers win v Celtic
Aaron Ramsey has posted a brilliant message on Twitter after Rangers won 2-1 versus on Sunday.
The Welsh midfielder started the game for the Gers but he was taken off before half-time with an injury scare.
He was playing really well, but couldn’t continue after a tangle with Cameron Carter-Vickers.
The Welsh midfielder was replaced by Scott Wright in the first half.
Ramsey wrote on Twitter: “What an effort from everyone today!! After a tough game in Europe to come here and to put in a shift like that makes you proud to be a part of this team. Happy Easter everyone.”
Any win over your derby rival is special, and to win it in the cup semi-final makes it even more special.
Rangers had lost two Old Firm derby matches already, both in the league, which could see them losing their SPFL crown this season.
However, the Gers now have a chance to win their first domestic cup trophy in 11 years. It also means Celtic are denied the possibility of clinching a domestic treble this season.
It was a massive victory and the Gers deserve it. They came from a goal behind to seal the win in the extra time, and it shows the quality and the character of the side.
The Gers played 120 minutes of football in the midweek against Braga in the Europa League, where they knocked the Portuguese club out after coming from 1-0 down in the first leg.
Both the sides created loads of chances, but Rangers should have scored more goals. Joe Aribo had two headed chances to give them a deserved lead, while John Lundstram had only managed to hit the bar.
The Gers will play Hearts in the final of the Scottish Cup on 21 May.
n other Rangers news, Tavernier himself identified two current players who deserve huge praise from supporters.
