Rangers news: SNP politician Humza Yousaf speaks out on Twitter in instant reaction to win v Braga

Humza Yousaf congratulated Rangers after their Europa League quarter-final win over Braga at Ibrox on Thursday night.

Kemar Roofe’s extra-time goal secured a 3-2 victory for the Light Blues, who’ll play RB Leipzig in the semi-finals over the course of the coming weeks.

Glasgow Pollock’s MSP Yousaf reacted to the victory despite previously showing his discontent towards the Ibrox giants.

“This is an incredible achievement, congrats to Rangers for progressing to the Europa League semi-finals,” said Yousaf via his personal Twitter account in an instant reaction to the full-time result on Thursday night [14 April].

All aboard the bandwagon

We’re yet to hear from Nicola Sturgeon praising the continental achievements of Scotland’s most successful football club but Yousaf’s is enough to show that the SNP are willing to jump onto this bandwagon while it’s still rolling.

Yousaf has made it clear in the past that he’s not a fan of Rangers Football Club, vilifying fans for celebrating their title success and ignoring Celtic supporters celebrating and rioting during the height of COVID.

But as soon as the club does something incredible – they did last season, by the way – the likes of Yousaf are making sure he’s there to share his congratulations.

We don’t care for it.

Rangers fans don’t forget and we’ll certainly remember what was said last year by the SNP MSP.

RB Leipzig will be a tough team to beat but in Borussia Dortmund, we’ve already triumphed over a German team who are better.

West Ham or Frankurt versus Leipzig or Rangers will be the final.

We’d love an all-British showdown.
