BBC presenter praises Rangers defender Tavernier in Borussia Dortmund Europa League clash
BBC commentator Steve Wilson has waxed lyrical over Rangers captain James Tavernier in the Borussia Dortmund clash.
Gers took on the Germans in the Europa League on Thursday (February 24) with a 4-2 lead.
While Dortmund were the better team in the first half, Wilson was impressed with what he saw from Tavernier when he played a cross to Alfredo Morelos who narrowly headed over.

Speaking on the Europa World Feed, Wilson said, “Exceptional cross that from Tavernier. Good early start to this game.”
Fantastic performance
Captain fantastic Tavernier seemed up for this game from minute one.
A lot was spoken about whether or not Rangers could defend their two-goal cushion.
Dortmund have been known to be a free-flowing side that can score goals at their own will.
However, they struggled to find any real openings today, but once they dd, they managed to go in front.
Jude Bellingham and Donyell Marlen were among the goals for the visitors.
Ryan Kent brilliantly won a penalty that was rightly awarded to the hosts.

Tavernier, as always, stepped up without a nervous bone in his body and calmly slotted the ball into the back of the net.
A one-goal lead is not enough for the Gers and they cannot afford to take their feet off the medal for even one minute.
A goal for the visitors suddenly opens up the tie and Giovanni van Bronckhorst would certainly want none of that today.
A win here would be a lot more special knowing that Celtic have been knocked out of Europe and have suffered an embarrassing defeat.
In other Rangers news, the Gers beat a European club to seal a major signing.
