‘Sensational’ – Alex Rae drools after Ryan Kent ‘terrorised’ defence for Rangers v Dortmund
Rangers winger Ryan Kent was littered with praise after he ‘terrorised’ the Dortmund defence in the build-up the third goal in their Europa League clash.
The Bears stormed to a stunning 4-2 win over Dortmund in Germany thanks to a James Tavernier penalty, Alfredo Morelos, a John Lundstram wonder strike and a Dan-Axel Zagadou own goal.
But it was Kent’s ‘sensational’ play in the build-up to Lundstram’s goal in the second half that got BT Sport commentator Alex Rae’s tongue wagging live-on-air, as he drooled over his involvement in the strike.
“Incredible play down that left-hand side,” he said.
“We spoke about Kent, he’s terrorised them. Lovely layback to the edge of the box. The little stepover, so direct, great composure and the finish. Sensational play.”
It was Kent’s seventh assist of the season, to go with his two goals in all competitions so far this campaign.
Brilliant
Dortmund manager Marco Rose named Morelos, Kent and Joe Aribo as the three danger men that his team had to look out for, and boy did Rangers prove him right.
Kent was on the periphery for much of the game in truth, but making decisive contributions in big moments is exactly what the top players do and the winger did that.

It was a mazy run with great skill involved, but the composure he showed on the ball to pick Lundstram out for the strike was just as important.
His pace and trickery had Dortmund weary every time the Blues came forward and he made sure to punish them when he got the opportunity to do so.
Rangers were phenomenal throughout the 90 minutes and fully deserved their victory, but Kent’s dazzling run was the cherry on top of the cake.
