Rangers ‘primed’ to complete permanent deal for Hearts defender John Souttar – report
Rangers are “primed” to complete the permanent signing of Hearts defender John Souttar today, according to The Scotsman.
They have reported on their website that the “widely anticipated” deal is poised to be finalised before 12pm this evening.
Souttar has already signed a pre-contract deal at Ibrox, but that could be brought forward should a fee be agreed.

Giovanni van Bronckhorst will be desperate to go into overdrive before this evening’s deadline, with numerous deals targeted.
The Scottish Daily Mail has already reported that the £300,000 deal for Lechia Gdansk defender Mateusz Zukowski is set to be finalised.
Should that one be completed, it would be all eyes on Souttar with the defence desperately needing to be reinforced at Ibrox.

Desperate.
If Saturday’s evidence was anything to go by, a new centre-back before the deadline this evening has to be the priority.
Calvin Bassey has shined in that makeshift role at Ibrox, but it all came crashing down in the 3-3 draw against Ross County.
The left-back made a big error leading to one of the three goals and struggled all afternoon in the poor conditions and direct threat against us.
That is where Souttar would thrive, and given the injuries to Filip Helander and Leon Balogun, this could soon near desperation status.
A bid has already been rejected, so it looks as though the Bears will need to go above £500,000 to get it done – time to put our foot down.
Who knows? If it is done quickly enough, we could be seeing Souttar make his debut against Celtic on Wednesday – wouldn’t that be some welcome.
