Hibernian hold last-gasp talks to sign Rangers winger Brandon Barker – report

Hibernian have held talks over a potential deadline day move for Rangers winger Brandon Barker, according to Raman Bhardwaj.

The STV reporter has shared the update with the revolving door going into overdrive at Ibrox ahead of the deadline this evening.

With Juventus midfielder Aaron Ramsey set to undergo his medical ahead of a move to Ibrox [Barry Anderson] Giovanni van Bronckhorst will likely need to ship some deadwood out of the club.

Writing on his personal Twitter account, Bhardwaj shared the latest with a potential exit on the cards in the coming hours.

“Brandon Barker news,” he wrote.

“Hibs have held talks over a possible move.”

Goodbye.

This is certainly one of the deals that needs to be sorted out.

Unfortunately, Barker just isn’t good enough to play for the Bears, and he has consistently proved that throughout his stay at the club.

His performance against Stirling Albion was the tip of the iceberg and proved that his future lay elsewhere.

A move to Edinburgh would be a good step for the winger, and we’re surprised that Shaun Maloney may want to take a punt.

Hibs have money to spend after the sale of Martin Boyle, so this has the potential to be a permanent deal rather than a pointless loan switch.

With Ramsey and others coming in, Barker going out would kickstart the revolving doors at Ibrox into overdrive.
