Cedric Itten stinks place out in 2/10, Joe Aribo and Amad Diallo shine – View: Rangers player ratings v Ross County

Rangers were involved in a thriller on Saturday afternoon as they travelled to Ross County in the Scottish Premiership.

Amad Diallo opened the scoring on his debut before two errors saw the home side take the lead – that didn’t last long as James Tavernier slotted home early in the second half.

Thankfully, Connor Goldson popped up with a goal to put us ahead, only for us to throw it away in the final minutes.

Here, Ibrox News has rated the players out of 10 for their displays against Ross County:

Allan McGregor – 3

Wow, what a shocker from the usually reliable Greegsy, with his huge calamitous error handing County their first goal of the afternoon. It got worst too, with the keeper at fault for the third goal too.

James Tavernier – 7

The skipper had a quiet afternoon, often struggling to be as effective going forward as he has been, but that changed when he popped up to fire home a rebound in the box.

Connor Goldson – 6

Rangers were clearly told by Giovanni van Bronckhorst to speed things up as the game went on, and it was Goldson who was often pushing up the field in search of that third goal, which he got.

Rangers

Calvin Bassey – 5

If McGregor’s mistake was bad, this one was nearly even worst. Bassey has been sensational at the back recently, but missing the ball to hand County the second was dreadful.

Borna Barisic – 6

Didn’t do much this afternoon in either half, with his impact limited. Having said that, the Croatian did his defensive work when called upon – making no mistakes.

Glen Kamara – 6

The Finland international always goes about his business quietly in midfield, and he did so again, keeping play ticking over in the heart of the side.

Scott Arfield – 6

Our attacking veteran will have been hoping for a similar effect to what he had against Livingston, but he rarely got into positions in the box to get himself on the scoresheet.

Joe Aribo – 8

There were no signs of a hangover from the African Cup of Nations here, with Aribo pulling the strings immediately. The Nigerian star got his assist and continued to dominate throughout on the ball.

Amad Diallo – 9

It was the perfect start for the Manchester United loanee, scoring within five minutes. The winger also gave us something we have been missing with his skill and flair on the ball – a brilliant opening stanza.

Rangers

Ryan Kent – 6

Coming back from suspension, Kent had a point to prove but was overshadowed by Diallo on the opposite flank for most of the game.

Cedric Itten – 2

Losing Alfredo Morelos was a real blow this week, and Itten has shown nothing to prove to us that he will have a future at Ibrox beyond this season. The Swiss international stunk the place out at Dingwall and surely cannot start against Celtic.
