Rangers watch Joe White developments closely as Newcastle contract close – Craig Hope

Rangers are watching developments closely on Newcastle sensation Joe White ahead of the January window slamming shut on Monday.

That’s according to the Daily Mail journalist Craig Hope, who has shared that the Magpies are closing in on a new contract.

White’s current deal runs out at the end of the season, and despite the Bears watching closely, he looks set to extend his deal at St James’ Park.

Writing on his personal Twitter account, Hope shared the latest development just days before the window slams shut.

“Newcastle set to secure future of Joe White after agreeing terms on new deal,” he wrote.

“19-year-old is out of contract this summer with Celtic, Rangers, Leeds and Chelsea all monitoring situation.”

Premier League hunting ground.

A loan deal for Manchester United sensation Amad Diallo to join the Bears on loan is done, with potentially more to come.

That is a brilliant move for Giovanni van Bronckhort, but it looks as though Ross Wilson has found a hunting ground.

English clubs have academies packed with talent, but that doesn’t mean they get the first-team opportunities they necessarily want.

That is where the likes of Rangers come in, who can offer that, as well as the chance to play in Europe and consistently fight for silverware.

Who wouldn’t want that?

White may now be at the richest club in the world, but is he really going to make his debut and stay in the side once they start throwing that money around?

It’s time to reconsider.
