Ibrox chiefs remain calm over future of Rangers defender Connor Goldson with exit certain - report

Rangers defender Connor Goldson is attracting serious interest from English clubs, according to The Sun.

The newspaper have reported on their website that Nottingham Forest and West Brom are two of the sides ready to make a move.

With Goldson free to open pre-contract talks with clubs south of the border, an exit looks all but “certain” from Ibrox.

It is said that Ibrox chiefs remain calm over the future of the 29-year-old, though, despite the impending move.

Even if Goldson was to sign a pre-contract, there is said to be little to no chance of a fee being agreed for a permanent exit in the next 10 days.

Giovanni van Bronckhorst won’t want to lose any of his star men with too much on the line in the Scottish Premiership and the Europa League.

Goldson still has a huge role to play at Ibrox, and will likely start every last remaining game if ready and available.

No chance.

West Brom or Nottingham Forest may sign Goldson on a pre-contract, but they would be dreaming if they made an attempt to make it permanent instantly.

Nathan Patterson has already been sold for big bucks to Everton in the Premier League, so there is no benefit to selling another of our stars.

Ross Wilson rebuffing offers, as well as bringing in fresh faces is as key as ever, with serious money on the line this year.

Winning the league gets instant qualification to the Champions League and the huge windfall that comes with that.

Selling Goldson now would make no sense, and it is time to send out a strong message to any of the vultures lurking at this moment in time.
