Hearts defender John Souttar undergoes Rangers medical

Hearts defender John Souttar has undergone his Rangers medical ahead of a move to Ibrox, according to Chris Jack.

The Glasgow Times journalist has claimed that the 25-year-old was Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s primary defensive target this month and that he was targeting a Bosman switch for him.

He appears to have gotten his wish with Souttar now undergoing his medical and read to join forces with the Scottish champions.

Souttar has been on the club’s radar for a while and there seemed a time when they would not have been able to get this over the line.

Given the fact that there were two English clubs already keen on him, players have the tendency to fancy a move south of the border.

However, Souttar stuck with his guns and decided that Scotland was the best place for his career to progress.

GvB got the man he wanted and the Scottish defender has it in him to one day be the future captain of this club.

He’s got the right credentials and application and could help take this club to the next level.

It could work in his favour as well as he could scale new heights at Ibrox and eventually become a fan favourite.

Exciting times are ahead for Souttar as well as the Rangers fans and hopefully, the defender can deliver on the promise he’s being signed upon.

In other Rangers news, the club have been handed a transfer boost as an English club have dropped out of the race to sign an ‘Incredible’ defender
