Hatayspor and Alanyaspor want to sign Rangers ace Scott Arfield - report

Turkish duo Hatayspor and Alanyaspor have entered the race to sign Rangers midfielder Scott Arfield, according to Fanatik.

The online outlet have reported that have made contact and started negotiations to sign the Canadian in January.

It is suggested that there is a cause in Arfield’s contract that could see him leave this month free of charge.

Giovanni van Bronckhorst has used Arfield since arriving at Ibrox, but possibly not as much as he would like.

This may be the final chance for the 33-year-old to make a big-money move into Europe before he likely retires.

Both Mediterranean clubs are in talks for a deal directly with the player, and it looks as though nothing is concrete as things stand.

If Arfield wants to leave this month, it looks as though nothing can be done to stop him from packing his bags and going.

The Canadian would need to be handed another new contract at Ibrox, and at this stage in his career, that looks highly unlikely.

Either way, Rangers aren’t going to get a fee should he leave, so if that’s what he wants, it should be granted by the club.

Van Bronckhorst has numerous options in that area, and will likely look to strengthen there once again in the summer with Steven Davis in a similar position.

Arfield has suffered from injury problems throughout his time at Glasgow, but he has always given 100% for the Bears, and now it looks like he is set to do that elsewhere.
