Heart & Hand fire back at Tom English after bizarre Rangers jibe this week
Tom English bizarrely took aim at Rangers media policy this week as they appointed Giovanni van Bronckhorst as the new manager.
Heart & Hand have become the official media partners of the club this season, with them taking charge of press conferences rather than the so-called mainstream media.
English predicted that van Bronckhorst will disappear into the Bears’ “media vortex” in what he labelled an odd world.
David Edgar has hit back at English on the official Heart & Hand Twitter account on Saturday, simply laughing at his jibe.
“Poor Tom English,” he said.
“Of all the days for one of his MSM colleagues to ask Tav at presser if ‘he’d ever been in this situation (manager leaving mid-season) before.’ Just the third time at Rangers, after all.
“The gap between the job they think they do and the job they actually do.”
Laughable.
Asking James Tavernier if he had seen this before is just one of the reasons why the mainstream media simply aren’t up to the levels of the fans.
On such a big occasion for the club ahead of a huge week and with van Bronckhorst coming in, there was everything needed to avoid mistakes.
Yet, it happened and it instantly contradicted every single argument on the table by English who is clearly still bitter at the decision.
English will have all the time in the world to write about the Bears, after all it will be rare that he will get the chance to actually turn up and watch at Ibrox.
It is moments like this that prove the club were right to adopt their stance, let’s hope it improves all of the mainstream when they are given the spotlight.
