Salford City in talks to sign Rangers midfielder Stephen Kelly
League Two side Salford City are reportedly in talks to sign Rangers midfielder Stephen Kelly on loan in January.
According to The Daily Record, they have made a loan bid to take the 21-year-old south of the border until the end of the season.
Gers are understood to be keen on letting him leave on loan so that he gets some regular game time under his belt.
Salford may not be the biggest teams in the league, but they’ve certainly got massive coverage, given their owners.
Manchester United’s class of 92 have different stakes in the club which is why they get talked about a lot in the English press.
This could be good for Kelly as it would make big news if a Rangers player is joining them.
Kelly has spent time on loan at different clubs in the past but this will be his biggest challenge, by far.
At 21, it’s probably the right time for him to get a taste of English football as it will polish his game and get him ready for the future.
The 21-year-old, who has been labelled as “fantastic” by Gary McAllister [Daily Record] and is understood to be rated highly among the Gers hierarchy.
Hopefully, he gets some vital experience under his belt and hones his skills in these next five months as he could be very close to becoming part of the senior team at Ibrox.
