Ross Wilson has Benjamin Siegrist on Rangers radar with Allan McGregor future unknown – report

Ross Wilson has put Dundee United stopper Benjamin Siegrist on his Rangers “Radar” with Champions League football on the line.

That’s according to the Daily Record, who report that it is still unknown whether Alan McGregor plans to sign a new deal at Ibrox.

The veteran stopper is into the final six months of his deal in Glasgow and could leave Giovanni van Bronckhorst with a decision to make.

Siegrist would be a fantastic signing to bring in.

The Scottish Mail reported this morning (10 January) that the Bears are plotting a pre-contract offer for the Swiss man.

It is suggested that English Premier League side Southampton are also interested, with competition set to be very high.

Ultimately, it all depends on our own situation with two keepers in Glasgow in the final years of their deals.

If McGregor and Jon McLaughlin don’t commit their futures to the club, it will leave the Bears looking for two new stoppers or trusting in youth.

Champions League.

Winning the Scottish Premiership and qualifying for the biggest club competition in Europe would help everything.

Not only would it give us another huge windfall, it opens the doors to bigger and better signings, with the chance to play in Europe a huge factor.

Siegrist would surely choose that over sitting on the bench at Southampton and getting rare starts in cup competitions.

Once a player is on the radar of Wilson, though, the club rarely misses out and it would be another masterclass to get this one across the line.
