Done Deal: Rangers sign James Sands
Rangers have secured the signing of James Sands, the Ibrox club confirmed on Wednesday.
The US international has joined on an 18-month loan deal, with Rangers having the option of signing him permanently as a part of the deal.
Ross Wilson has shared the agreement was reached two weeks ago, and that they were dealing with structuring the loan deal.

“Signing James is a really interesting opportunity for us, and one we are all excited about,” said the Rangers Sporting Director.
“We reached agreement a couple of weeks ago for the transfer to be structured as a loan for this season and next, whilst we have negotiated and secured an exclusive option to buy beyond the initial loan period.”
Smart signing
Rangers lost academy graduate Nathan Patterson after he joined Premier League outfit, Everton, on Tuesday for a club-record fee.
The offer was too good from Everton to turn it down, and it was the best move possible for all parties involved.

Sands is a versatile player, who can perform multiple roles, including playing as a centre-back or right-back.
It’s a brilliant signing from the Gers. He is a young talent and may require some time to settle in at the new club.
Rangers now can observe his progress over a period of 18-months before making the call whether they should buy him permanently.
What has been really interesting is that the Gers had already lined up the move a couple of weeks ago as they probably anticipated that Patterson would leave the club.
