Rangers want to sign Vitesse defender Danilho Doekhi in January, summer back-up plan ready – report
Rangers want to seal a major January transfer for Vitesse defender Danilho Doekhi, according to De Telegraaf.
The Dutch outlet have reported on their website that Giovanni van Bronckhorst has singled out the club skipper as a big target this month.
Doekhi runs out of contract at the end of the season, and it is reported that the Bears will go for him in the summer if they fail to get a deal across the line this month.

With Nathan Patterson set to leave the club for around £16million in the imminent future, money is there to be spent.
Doekhi has been linked for months with a move to Ibrox, and it looks as though the Bears are finally in a position to get it done.
Vitesse may want to stand in his way and make him run down his contract at the club, but that would lead to them earning nothing.
The Dutch enforcer has captained his side against the likes of Tottenham in the Europa Conference League this season and would come with brilliant experience.

Get it done.
This is a no-brainer.
Connor Goldson is still going through his contract dilemma and doesn’t look any closer to putting pen-to-paper on a new deal which also ends at the conclusion of this season.
Add to that the injury worries surrounding Filip Helander and Leon Balogun alongside Jack Simpson simply flopping and options are needed at the back.
Doekhi shouldn’t need persuading to join van Bronckhorst at Ibrox, with a constant shot at numerous pieces of silverware and the chance to play in the Champions League from next season onwards.
We could wait until the summer to get this one over the line for free, but it would be a brilliant move to pay a fee and bring Doekhi to Ibrox this month.
