Nathan Patterson to seal Rangers exit to Everton today, will pen emotional goodbye to fans - report

Rangers defender Nathan Patterson is set to announce his move to Everton on Tuesday, according to the Daily Record.

The newspaper have reported that it is finally D-Day for the young right-back, who will seal his record-breaking move to Goodison Park.

It is also suggested that after thrashing out personal terms, Patterson will pen an emotional goodbye to the Bears.

With everything sorted, it looks as though Ross Wilson is set to sign off on the “megabucks” deal for the club.

Clauses and a future sell-on percentage make the deal even more handsome for Rangers, who have pulled off a blinder with this one.

Patterson will make his emotional statement after the ink dries on his new contract at Everton, something which appears to be coming today.

The Daily Record print edition (04/01) insist that permission was granted by the club for the defender to leave Glasgow and finalise everything ahead of the move only yesterday.

Good luck.

Patterson will leave with a whole army of fans wishing him the best south of the border in the Premier League.

The young defender is bound to have a huge future, but in truth, this deal was far too good to be turned down.

Rangers have been given a club-record fee which could rise up to £16million, all for a player who hardly starts for the club.

James Tavernier has that spot sewn up for many years to come, and now Giovanni van Bronckhorst will have plenty of money to spend between now and the end of the month.

Football is a business at the end of the day, and this was necessary.
