Former Rangers attacker Greg Stewart scores incredible goal in Indian Super League

Former Rangers attacker Greg Stewart scored a “sensational” goal from a direct free kick in the Indian Super League on Boxing Day.

Stewart’s team Jamshedpur shared the spoils with Kerala Blasters, but they could’ve ended up losing had it not been for his wonder goal.

This one has already been dubbed as one of if not the goal of the season, which shows how just how sweetly he’s struck it.

Stewart arrived at Gers as a free agent and stayed at the club for two seasons.

However, they did not look to extend his contract in the summer, while choosing to keep hold of players like Brandon Barker.

While Stewart is 31 and does not have too many years left, he offers something very few players in this Gers team do – which is being a set piece threat.

His left foot is known to strike the ball ever so finely and he would’ve been a fantastic option to bring off the bench when the chips are down.

He’s capable of leading the line as well as playing on the flanks or in a number 10 position.

Given that some of Gers’ players will leave and retire at the end of the season, Giovanni van Bronckhorst would have welcomed Stewart on board.

Hopefully, he is backed in the window in January as well as the summer as he’s got to help take this club to that next level and become a Champions League knockout rounds team again.
