Barry Ferguson makes Morelos-Rangers claim after Giovanni van Bronckhorst arrival
Steven Gerrard may have had a go at Alfredo Morelos behind closed doors at Rangers, claims Barry Ferguson.
The former Gers player believes that the Colombian has got his act together under Giovanni van Bronckhorst.
However, he believes that Gerrard may not have been too happy with his fitness levels back when he sat on the Ibrox hot seat.

Ferguson said on Go Radio, “I’ve seen a major difference in him since Gio’s come in, and that’s maybe what he needed.
“Maybe he needed a kick up the backside because there’s no doubt he’s got so much quality.
“(Steven Gerrard) always supported him in public but, I’m sure, behind closed doors he wouldn’t have been happy with his performances or maybe his fitness levels.”
Fair enough
Morelos was not at his best under Gerrard and many questioned whether he even wanted to be at the club.
He was not putting in the efforts off the ball like he was last season and his goal numbers dried up.
However, he seems like a man reborn under GvB and that’s precisely what he needed.

He’s scored four goals and provided an assist in his last five games and that’s something that was not happening under Gerrard.
Hopefully, he continues doing what he has been doing as he’s clearly an exceptionally talented player.
He may be on his way out at the end of the season, but until he’s here, performing at the highest level will benefit him.
