Rangers reasons behind rejecting potentially moving winter break in Scottish Premiership
Rangers are one of few clubs who are likely to reject moving the winter break forward in the Scottish Premiership.
Nicola Sturgeon confirmed that attendances have been capped at 500 due to rising COVID-19 numbers, with Celtic spearheading a move to bring the break forward by a week.
The Daily Record has shared that fixtures are likely to have played a big factor in the Bears decision to turn that down with only one home game in that period.

Writing in their daily live blog, the Daily Record shared the possible reasons behind the disagreement at Ibrox.
“It’s believed that 10 clubs are in favour of moving the break to try and get fans in, with Rangers and Ross County against – but what are the reasons for that?” they wrote.
“It’s impossible to say for sure, but the fixtures likely have something to do with it. Rangers are due to face St Mirren on Boxing Day, and they certainly won’t be delighted to welcome just 500 fans.
“But the impact at Ibrox will be lessened if it is just a three-week break, with two of their fixtures over that period away to home.
“In addition, should the Africa Cup of Nations go ahead they’d likely be without Calvin Bassey, Leon Balogun and Joe Aribo for trips to Aberdeen and Celtic.”

Embarrassing.
Celtic know exactly what they’re doing, and they are playing their cards at this very moment to turn everything upside down.
With no Rangers fans expected in Parkhead anyway, moving down to 500 fans would likely suit the Bears in the Old Firm.
On top of that, our fierce rivals have numerous injuries in their squad so moving the break forward would give them the chance to get their players back.
And one final positive for them, just in case no one was persuaded why they are looking for any advantage – this would make our players going to the African Cup of Nations, such as Joe Aribo, potentially unavailable for the rescheduled Old Firm.
It is important that Rangers stand their ground, there is no need to bring anything forward – there are no more than three games to play and then fans could be back after the break, let’s get through this together.
