BBC share major Scottish Premiership update, Rangers at meeting as new windfall discussed
Rangers are set to be present at a Monday meeting to discuss broadcast revenues in the SPFL beyond this season.
The BBC have shared the major update on their website as the £18m+ windfall is on the agenda in Scotland.
Clubs currently earn shares of £32million from the broadcasting revenue, something which could rise as high as £50million in years to come.

Alongside financial experts Deloitte, Aberdeen chairman Dave Cormack insisted that earnings could be much higher for Scottish clubs.
“We believe we can get to £50m in the next five-to-10 years,” he said. “We believe there’s an immediate 20-30 per cent increase and we’re working on that with Deloitte,” he said.
An increase of up to 30% will only help Scottish football and the chance to improve everything dramatically.

Get it done.
Especially after finally returning to the European Championships in the summer, Scottish football has to be rewarded.
With moving up in the coefficients too, the winners of the Scottish Premiership will now also earn automatic qualification to the Champions League next season.
Given that, the current deal is simply a kick in the teeth and doesn’t represent what is happening on the pitch right now.
Rangers are going toe-to-toe with the likes of Borussia Dortmund in the Europa League, yet are earning pennies from broadcasting deals that earn clubs in the English Premier League tens of millions.
Compare that to Leeds United last season, they earned £133million from broadcasting revenues in their first year in the top flight in 20 years [Football Insider].
There has to be more of a level playing field, and even if it will never reach those levels, the likes of Rangers simply need to be rewarded financially more from these broadcasting deals.
It is brilliant to see more being done to make sure that happens.
