Chris McLaughlin shares COVID-19 update as Rangers involved in Thursday call

Chris McLaughlin has shared that Rangers were involved in a video call with all Scottish Premier League clubs today.

COVID-19 issues are growing in the United Kingdom once again as the Omricon variant spreads, with few games being postponed in Scotland so far.

As fears grow, McLaughlin has shared that fans are still allowed to attend games as things stand, but it could start to change.

Writing on his personal Twitter account, McLaughlin shared the latest as clubs carried out a call on the issues.

“Scottish football’s Joint Response Group to look at strengthening Covid protocols between now and the winter break,” he wrote.

“It follows a video call with all SPFL premiership clubs this afternoon.”

McLaughlin then responded to a fan asking if football would return to behind-closed-doors as things plunged.

“For now, yes,” they can go in.

Getting worst.

Although things are sticking as they are at this moment, it would be no surprise to see them change in the blink of an eye.

Look at England and the Premier League, they have already got five games cancelled in the upcoming weekend and they have been hit hard.

Things in Scotland are not as bad so far, although there were concerns with Saturday’s opponents Dundee United this week.

With a busy Christmas period coming up before the winter break in January, it looks as though things will remain normal.

That being said, it could change instantly but it looks as though Scottish football is the model to follow so far – it is working.
