Jordan Campbell shares latest on Rangers contract saga with Connor Goldson
Jordan Campbell has shared that Rangers do have the capabilities to “splash out” on a new deal for Connor Goldson.
The Athletic journalist insisted that the longer this current group of players are together, the more likely a new lucrative deal will be on the table.
Goldson has been stuck in this impasse for months now, and there was hope Giovanni van Bronckhorst could change things after his arrival.

Writing in the latest edition of his Mailbag for The Athletic, Campbell shared the latest on the ongoing contract situation.
“Goldson and his representatives were having conversations as far back as the summer but negotiations didn’t produce an agreement,” he said.
“When that happens, based on recent examples, there tends to be a bit of time before the club and player come back to the table.
“The longer this group are together, the more the club has to splash out on lucrative renewals to reflect star players’ statuses.”

Things change.
It was clear that things were going stale under Steven Gerrard as he came to the end of his tenure at Ibrox this season.
Results weren’t going our way, it was taking the Bears to go one goal behind to start playing well in matches – something that was never the case.
Van Bronckhorst has come in and has delivered on the big stage instantly, guiding us through the Europa League to earn a huge tie with Borussia Dortmund and beating the likes of Hearts and Hibs on the road.
Goldson will surely be delighted with that, and with Champions League football on the line, a trip to Germany will give him a taste of that.
That could be critical in convincing him to sign on the dotted line, with Van Bronckhorst set to play a huge role in keeping him around, time to splash out now?
