Francis Amuzu told to leave Anderlecht as Rangers look to complete January transfer

Anderlecht have told Francis Amuzu to leave the club amid strong links with Rangers this week, according to Football Ghana.

Reports have suggested that the Bears want to bring the winger to Ibrox after a scouting mission earlier in the season.

Vincent Kompany has used the 22-year-old sparingly, and now looks to have reached the end of his tether and a move looks likely.

A graduate of the Anderlecht academy, Amuzu has failed to cement his spot in the starting XI in recent years.

This season, he has still made 21 appearances, but with only three goals and four assists to his name, it looks as though the demands are higher.

That is still a decent return to say that not all of those appearances are from the start of games under Kompany.

After being told to find a new challenge in January, it looks as though Rangers are in the driving seat to get this one done.

How much?

This could be a bargain, and it looks as though Giovanni van Bronckhorst is ready to strengthen in the final third.

Amuzu is said to have a £3.4million release clause in his current deal with Anderlecht, with his contract still having a handful of years remaining [SportsWorldGhana].

One man who will have the inside scoop on the 22-year-old is Zeb Jacobs, who will also be joining the Bears coaching staff from Royal Antwerp in January.

Having that knowledge will be critical before making any move, and van Bronckhorst may lean on that before throwing cash at Anderlecht.

Described as the new Raheem Sterling, it looks as though this could be one to get really excited over at Ibrox.
