Sky Sports expert: GvB will be thrilled by Rangers winger Ryan Kent display v Lyon
Rangers managed a 1-1 draw against Lyon in the Europa League clash on Thursday night.
The Gers are already through to the play-off round, while Lyon has been confirmed as group winners. The game was as such a dead-rubber.
Sky Sports expert Lewis Jones has showered praise on Ryan Kent for his brilliant performance against the French giants.

“The manager will have especially been impressed with the display of Ryan Kent down the left flank. Always positive with the ball, he gave 17-year-old debutant Hugo Vogel a torrid introduction to top level football,” wrote Jones for Sky Sports.
“There was a nutmeg in the first half to enjoy moments before he clipped a stunning ball down the line that opened up the play that ended with Scott Wright’s opening goal. He was Rangers’ star-man.”

Van Bronckhorst made six changes to the side, but the performance was still top-notch. It seems the transition from the Steven Gerrard era has been pretty seamless.
It is indeed pleasing to see that the players are gradually picking up his style and philosophy, despite the fact that it was only the Dutchman’s fifth match at Rangers.
He has made a strong start at the club, remaining unbeaten so far, and winning four of them.

The fact that Rangers have looked confident throughout the match away from home in Europe, despite making several changes, only reflect that the early signs under him are very positive.
Kent was absolutely brilliant and he deserves a lot of praise for his performance.
Since coming back from a long injury, he has taken time to regain his sharpness. It’s fair to say that Kent was simply brilliant against Lyon, and his return to form will delight the manager.
The 25-year-old winger has been targeted by Steven Gerrard’s Aston Villa [Birmingham Mail], but unless they come up with crazy money, it looks highly unlikely that the Gers will sell him in January.
