Heart and Heart shut down Rangers exit links for Borna Barisic to join Aston Villa

Heart and Hand have shut down rumours suggesting that Aston Villa have made contact with Rangers over Borna Barisic.

The official club partner emphatically responded to those, insisting that was “false” and that no contact had been made from Steven Gerrard.

Giovanni van Bronckhorst will surely not want his better players to leave Ibrox over the winter transfer window.

Writing on their official Twitter account, Heart and Hand emphatically responded to the links and fan concerns.

“Asked and been told there has been no contact between Rangers and Villa about Barisic,” they wrote.

“Any reports to the contrary are false.”

Put to bed.

This was always going to happen, wasn’t it?

We have already seen Gerrard and Villa linked with nearly everyone in the Bears squad as if that would ever be allowed to happen.

Nathan Patterson, Barisic, Connor Goldson, Glen Kamara and Ryan Kent are just a handful of the names who have been reportedly lined up to follow their former boss.

It is simply an easy link to make and there is no chance of it happening, why would the board sit back and sanction those moves? It would only hurt Van Bronckhorst, who will have wanted assurances on those types of things.

Barisic is well and truly cemented at left-back, even more since Gerrard left with Calvin Bassey now shining in the heart of the defence.

Throw those nerves away Bears, it isn’t happening.
