Chris Sutton reacts as Rangers fans banned from travelling to Lyon

Chris Sutton has taken to Twitter after Rangers fans were banned from attending this Thursday’s Europa League game against Lyon.

The Bears confirmed the news earlier today (6th December), sharing that they were “bemused” by the decision in such short notice.

Sutton, who has been banned from Ibrox during this Europa League campaign, appeared to take a sarcastic approach.

Writing on his personal Twitter account this evening, Sutton seemed to sarcastically react to the news.

“Genuinely gutted for Rangers fans not being allowed to go to Lyon at such short notice,” he wrote.

“It’s not very nice.”

Here we go.

Sutton simply can’t help himself, and we genuinely believe he sent this Tweet with the main goal to be sarcastic.

The difference between being banned from Ibrox and these fans being denied travel to France couldn’t be further apart.

It’s actually constant digs such as this one why he has to sit at home or at Parkhead on Thursday evenings.

Rangers were given 2200 tickets last week, and that will have led to fans getting them and then paying for travel across the channel.

For that now to be cancelled only three days beforehand is embarrassing, and they have to be guaranteed their money back from every last expense or threaten some sort of action.

As for Sutton, he will likely lose interest in the Europe League after this week given that Celtic once again failed to qualify from their group – that’s becoming quite a tradition now.
