Heart and Hand share why Ryan Kent and Steven Davis miss out for Rangers v Dundee

There was a shock on the Rangers teamsheet this afternoon as Ryan Kent and Steven Davis were dropped completely against Dundee.

Giovanni van Bronckhorst rotated his squad and brought Fashion Sakala and Scott Arfield into his side for the clash at Ibrox.

Heart and Hand have shared that both were just being rested for the game, easing the worry of those concerned at their absences.

Writing on their official Twitter account, Heart and Hand shared what they had heard from the club this afternoon.

“Kent and Davis rested today, no injuries,” he said.

And breathe…

Van Bronckhorst is already putting the welfare of his squad ahead of selfishness in his selection and that is brilliant to see.

Kent and Davis have both had problems with their fitness this season, with the winger out for quite some time with an injury already.

With a big game against Lyon coming up, both of these being rested will most likely see them start when we make the short trip to France on Thursday.

It is now a real opportunity for the likes of Arfield and Sakala to come in and prove themselves after not having many opportunities all season.

Steven Gerrard rarely rotated his squad and that saw us slightly suffer at the start of this campaign, but that is being changed already.

Van Bronckhorst wants to see every last man in his squad before the January window, but seeing these two rested proves that the midfield and attack should be fine for the rest of the season.
