Giovanni van Bronckhorst reacts to first Rangers training session

Giovanni van Bronckhorst took charge of his first Rangers training on Tuesday after taking charge at Ibrox.

Roy Makaay and Arno Phillips were also at the heart of things as a new era got underway at Auchenhowie.

Steven Gerrard is in the past and the new management team were clearly taking no nonsense from the squad.

Van Bronckhorst has reacted to his first day at Auchenhowie this afternoon, and he appears delighted with what he saw.

Writing on his personal Twitter account, the Dutchman sent a message to those outside of the club with a little insight.

“Great first day at Rangers Training Centre,” he said.

Brilliant.

This is exactly what we want to see, a response.

Sunday was shocking for everyone involved and van Bronckhorst will have been fuming with what he saw from his new squad at times and not being able to do anything about it.

That made today critical, especially ahead of that Europa League shootout with Sparta Prague on Thursday evening.

One of the viral clips to come out was Makaay telling Ryan Kent that tricks belong in the circus, and that is something that shows a change in tactics.

Maybe they want the squad to be more direct, and that could be something that will help Kent more than anyone in this squad.

Tomorrow will be another busy day at Auchenhowie, and hopefully, we can start seeing some results on Thursday evening – we definitely need it.
