Andrew Dickson moots Rangers exit for Connor Goldson, January priority new defender

Rangers defender Connor Goldson could be sold in the upcoming January transfer window at Ibrox.

Andrew Dickson has insisted that Goldson may not have resigned just yet despite his more-than-honest interview against Hibs.

The freelance journalist who has worked for Sky believes that Giovanni van Bronckhorst will have a new defender as a “priority” and selling players will help.

Writing on his personal Twitter account, Dickson shared that Goldson could be on his way out of Ibrox in the near future.

“That’s as good as an admission from Goldson he won’t be resigning and based on his displays this season I’m not sure that’s a bad thing anyway,” he wrote.

“Defence will be a clear priority in January if GvB is going to able to go into the market, if RFC can sell then it may be best for all.”

Get it done?

Looking at our options at the back, it is certainly an area that needs sorting.

Goldson and Leon Balogun have been shadows of their former selves this season and were both equally shocking against Hibs.

Having said that though, Jack Simpson gives no one any confidence that he can come in and make a difference, with that one looking like a mistake already.

With Nikola Katic away on loan and Filip Helander with a massive injury, a new signing would be a big move to make for van Bronckhorst.

Who could it be? Vitesse skipper Danilho Doekhi has been linked previously and the Dutch link is too hard to look past.

Time to make a move in January, get it done.
