Tom English: Rangers facing major January decision for GvB
Tom English has insisted that Rangers now have a major decision to make in January after appointing Giovanni van Bronckhorst.
The Dutchman arrived on Thursday evening and was said to have seeked assurances regarding transfers in the coming windows.
English is never one to shy away from comments on matters at Ibrox, and believes the board have a big transfer decision to make after losses were posted.

Writing for the BBC this afternoon, English insisted that the Bears board will need to decide whether to stick or twist.
“They’re approaching decision time,” he said. “In January they are going to have to decide whether to stick or twist. As they ponder the question, they’ll know that Celtic will most definitely be recruiting.
“Stick with what they have – buying nobody but selling nobody – while hoping Van Bronckhorst is good enough to secure the league. Or twist with more signings to keep step with Celtic, a move that would rack up more losses, but could result in them trousering £30-£40m of Champions League loot.”
Decisions.
This is a fair point, but the board will be more than prepared for it.
English is already making out that they will scrambling looking for answers with more than six weeks before the window and no chance that will be happening.
Losses are a part of football at most clubs, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic, and there will be plenty of speculation regarding big-player exits.
Players will come and go, but they will be demanding big money and that is something Rangers will need to deliberate.
Ross Wilson and his team have been perfect when using the free market in recent years, and now van Bronckhorst is here, it unlocks the Dutch market too.
Time will tell, but there won’t be any sticking or twisting, especially no gambles at Ibrox moving forward.
