Pep Guardiola thrilled as Giovanni van Bronckhorst appointed Rangers boss
Pep Guardiola has been left thrilled at Rangers appointing Giovanni van Bronckhorst on Thursday evening.
The Manchester City boss reacted to the news this afternoon, calling the Gers as one of “the greatest” clubs north of the border.
Van Bronckhorst has arrived in Glasgow ready to take in the action from the stands against Hibernian on Sunday afternoon.

Speaking in his press conference this afternoon via City’s official Twitter account, Guardiola was blown away by the news.
“Big compliment to him [Van Bronckhorst],” he said.
“Rangers is one of the greatest in Scotland. It’s a huge opportunity for him. We are in touch and he came for a period here. He is a lovely guy, so I wish him all the best.”
Seal of approval.
Guardiola may have got it wrong by saying only one of the greatest clubs, but we suppose we can let him off that.
Van Bronckhorst has a big win over the Spaniard in the Champions League from his time at Feyenoord, and he clearly has influenced those around him.
We already can’t wait for next Thursday in the Europa League, although the excitement is also through the roof for this semi-final against Hibs.
Ross Wilson and the Gers simply had to get this appointment right given the magnitude of not only this season but this week.
There have rightly been no complaints, and we can’t wait for th Oranje revolution at Ibrox to take shape over the next few weeks and months; as is Guardiola, clearly.
