Rangers tease unnamed manager talks with appointment close

Rangers have shared an update on their ongoing managerial hunt this week as talks continue at Ibrox.

Giovanni van Bronckhorst has been the runaway favourite for the role but it looks as though more talks are set before a decision is made.

Ross Wilson has been at the head of the talks and spoke to many contenders in London over the weekend.

Go Radio have shared the latest update they have been fed by the club on their personal Twitter account this morning.

“Rangers managerial update: Club say process is ongoing with several “really strong candidates, including candidates not mentioned in public domain,” they wrote.

“Adding they’re in no rush to appoint. Representatives met with Giovanni van Bronckhorst on Sat, Frank Lampard never considered.”

One to watch?

Well then, it looks as though van Bronckhorst isn’t as cemented as once thought as talks continue into this week.

The Dutchman has been involved in positive talks this weekend, although it was shared that no contract has yet been agreed.

With huge games on the horizon, this decision simply has to be right in order to pick up important games against Hibs and Sparta Prague.

Will these unnamed candidates be able to blow van Bronckhorst out of the water? It would take something special given his experience, success and his past at Ibrox.

We are getting closer to the decision, and the excitement is impalpable as we get ready to welcome the next man through the doors at Ibrox.
