No obvious reason why van Bronckhorst couldn’t be Rangers manager for clash v Hibernian – Sky journo
Sky Sports journalist Andrew Dickson cannot see why Giovanni van Bronckhorst won’t be in charge of Rangers by the time they play Hibernian.
The Scottish Premiership leaders face Hibs at Hampden Park next Sunday in the semi-finals of the Scottish League Cup but as it stands, they are preparing for the game without a manager after Steven Gerrard left for Aston Villa.
According to Dickson, there’s a possibility that van Bronckhorst could be in the dugout at Hampden with numerous news outlet reports that the Dutchman is interested in the managerial vacancy at Ibrox [Daily Record].

Writing via his personal Twitter account on Thursday, Dickson said: ” Focus is on van Bronckhorst as a replacement and he’s a very worthy candidate – as I said yesterday (Wednesday), he ticks a lot of boxes.
“Given he’s out of work and has expressed interest in managing the club before, there’s no obvious reason why he couldn’t in place for the Hibs semi-final.”
Too good to be true?
Does anyone else have the feeling that everything is going all too well right now in regards to van Bronckhorst?
Everyone’s reporting he wants the job, every fan is saying they want him and it seems Ross Wilson has also set his sights on the Dutchman.
We haven’t seen a single negative line about van Bronckhorst, which suggests that this should be done in a matter of days.
But we don’t do things simple here at Ibrox. This is Rangers Football Club we’re talking about.
We’re struggling to not get our hopes up too much because as much as we want van Bronckhorst, we know that all it takes is for the wrong thing to be said in an interview or in contract negotiations for it all to fall apart.
Just look at what happened in the aftermath of Pedro Caixinha’s exit.
Rangers have improved in all areas since the farcical manager hunt after Caixinha was sacked but there’s still that niggling little voice in our head saying that this all may be too good to be true.
In other Rangers news, this ex-Gers man could be van Bronckhorst’s assistant if he’s hired.
