Harry Redknapp suggests Rangers should appoint Frank Lampard
Rangers should appoint Frank Lampard as their next manager, according to Harry Redknapp.
The Gers are looking to appoint their new manager as quickly as possible with some important games coming up for them after the international break.
If the widespread reports are to be believed, Giovanni van Bronckhorst is leading the race for this role, but Redknapp feels Lampard is the right man for the job.

The former Tottenham Hotspur manager has urged Rangers to make a move for Lampard who is currently out of work after he was sacked by Chelsea earlier this year.
“It’s got to be Frank, hasn’t it? He’ll go there. I’d take him all day long. Steven Gerrard then Frank Lampard — sounds good to me,” said Redknapp, as quoted by the Scottish Sun.
“If you’re looking at like for like then Frank’s perfect — over 100 caps for England, won everything as a player, great football man, top manager, made for the highest level.
“Frank could do it no problem. He’s got great knowledge of the game and is a hard worker.
“Frank could be fantastic for Rangers, although it is also all about the players for a manager. Frank could go in there and do well, no problems at all, and he could take things on further.”
Makes sense
Obviously, Redknapp, who often appears as a pundit for Sky Sports, is being biased here as Lampard is his nephew.
However, he has made some valid points. When Rangers appointed Gerrard they took a gamble on him, and he did deliver.

Lampard, on the other hand, is a safer bet. Like Gerrard, he enjoyed a stellar playing career and he is regarded as one of the finest England midfielders of all time.
He is a hard-working manager and has got great knowledge of the game. He did a fantastic job at Derby County, and also did well for Chelsea.
Unlike Gerrard, he already has got managerial experience. Most importantly, he has got the desire and hunger to establish himself as a top-quality manager.
Gerrard did a fantastic job at Rangers, and the club must appoint someone who can actually take the club forward.
Lampard is a forward-thinking manager, and appointing him at Ibrox would be a very good move.
