David Ornstein shares insight into John Terry chances of getting Rangers job

David Ornstein has insisted that it would be unlikely for John Terry to earn the Rangers job this week.

The Englishman has been linked to replace Steven Gerrard after going in the opposite direction and leaving Aston Villa recently.

Ornstein has shared that although unlikely, Terry is probably going to throw himself into the application process.

Speaking live on Sky Sports, Ornstein shared the latest on Terry potentially swapping Villa Park for Ibrox.

“One of the reasons why Villa let Terry go was becuase they wanted him to go and cut his teeth and get his first job in management.

“I don’t know if he’s ready for that to be at Rangers, he hasn’t led a team on his own. I don’t know how credible the links are with Terry to Rangers.

“I think that’s a plump job and I don’t think it’s going to go to Terry but it would be worthwhile him being in the process.”

No chance.

Terry is wishfully thinking if he believes he has what it takes to replace Gerrard at Ibrox this week.

Experience is key, and a few years of working under Dean Smith at Aston Villa is simply not going to cut it for him, unfortunately.

Look at the other contenders, the likes of Giovanni van Bronckhorst have won titles in Holland with Feyenoord, they simply don’t compare.

Having such big names in the footballing world linked and interested in the top job at Ibrox simply proves just how big of an opportunity this is for anyone though.

The next decision simply has to be right, and Ross Wilson is unlikely to waste his time on potential applications such as this one.
