Sky Sports: Giovanni van Bronckhorst comfortably Rangers frontrunner, has crucial experience of silverware

Sky Sports have shared that Giovanni van Bronckhorst is “comfortably” the frontrunner to take charge of Rangers.

The Bears and Ross Wilson are on the hunt for a new manager after Steven Gerrard left for Aston Villa on Thursday.

It has been shared that Van Bronckhorst has crucial experience of success and winning silverware in his managerial career, something that should bode well for his chances.

Speaking on Sky Sports this afternoon, Gordon Duncan shared the news that most fans wanted to hear this evening.

“Van Bronckhorst is comfortably the frontrunner and the vast majority of Rangers fans are behind his appointment,” he said.

“And crucially he has had managerial success as well, winning the title in the Netherlands with Feyenoord. So he would clearly be a popular choice.”

All but done.

It looks as though Wilson has found his man, and baring any final minute disruptions, Van Bronckhorst will sign on the dotted line.

The Dutchman is expected in Glasgow tomorrow to start talks and that should kickstart everything in the right direction.

The Bears have a massive clash against Hibernian in the semi-final of the cup next week, followed by a huge European night at Ibrox the week after.

Van Bronckhorst or whoever will be in charge will want a week with the squad training and teaching their ways ahead of a massive month of football.

There is no time to rest, whoever comes in has to hit the ground running or things could get quickly sour.

Is Van Bronckhorst the man? It certainly looks that way.
