Rangers to hold Giovanni van Bronckhorst talks on Saturday as Ross Wilson schedules meeting
Ross Wilson is scheduled to hold talks with Giovanni van Bronckhorst tomorrow (Saturday) as Rangers aim to hire a new manager as quickly as possible, according to The 4th Official.
The reliable source, that has previously shared updates from behind-the-scenes at Ibrox, reports that while other managers are “in the mix” to replace Steven Gerrard, van Bronckhorst seems to be the first they will hold talks with.
It is understood that a meeting is set to take place between sporting director Wilson and the former Feyenoord boss, who played for the Gers between 1998 and 2001.
Quickfire appointment
Aston Villa moved fast to hire Gerrard as their replacement for Dean Smith – and we need to move fast too.
While we’re in the middle of an international break, next Sunday will soon come around when Rangers play Hibernian at Hampden Park in the Scottish League Cup semi-finals.
We want a new manager to be sat in the dug-out by then and we also want that manager to have had some time to get to know the squad, the facilities and bring in a coaching team that has to do the same.
Rangers’ players may also need to learn a new system or formation if that’s what the next boss wants to do here.

Van Bronckhorst sounds like an obvious choice.
He had great success at Feyenoord, he’s a former Gers player, he’s also been at other massive clubs in Barcelona and Arsenal and he’s currently available to walk straight into Ibrox and take charge.
The Dutchman ticks so many boxes and one of the biggest ones he does tick is that the fans seem to be totally on board with hiring him.
In other Rangers news, Sky Sports has learned this Englishman could be keen on the job at Ibrox after he left a billionaire-owed club.
