Jordan Campbell: Steven Gerrard could look to sign Rangers star Glen Kamara

Jordan Campbell has mooted a potential Aston Villa swoop for Rangers star Glen Kamara in the near future.

Steven Gerrard completed his Ibrox exit on Thursday to join the Premier League club and could look to take some of his old players with him.

Kamara is one of those that Gerrard loved during his time in Glasgow, even persuading him to sign a new deal this season.

Writing in the comments section of his latest piece for The Athletic, Campbell admitted that there could be more than Kamara targeted.

“I would not be surprised if he came in for him as he loves him as a player,” he wrote.

“A few more you could say that about like Kent and Aribo.”

Please, no.

Losing Gerrard was a big enough blow, but if he was to take any of our stars, it would be even worse.

Kamara is at the heartbeat of this side and the Finland international will continue to shine domestically and in Europe no matter who is in charge.

Gerrard made sure that the midfielder signed a new deal recently, and if anything, that will harm his chances of taking him to Villa Park.

It would now take a huge offer to twist the arm of the Bears, and others such as Ryan Kent will surely be more under threat.

The winger has been the subject of serious Premier League interest in recent windows, and surely, Villa and Gerrard will be added to that list.
