Ally McCoist stunned by Rangers star Nathan Patterson for Scotland v Moldova
Ally McCoist was left stunned by Rangers star Nathan Patterson for Scotland against Moldova this evening.
The young wing-back scored his first-ever goal for his country in a vital World Cup qualifying clash.
McCoist was blown away as Patterson cut onto his weak foot and smashed the ball home in what was an “exquisite” finish.

Speaking live on Sky Sports this evening, McCoist was stunned by what he saw from the flying wing-back over in Moldova.
“What a goal, he said.
“Brilliant goal, it’s a perfect finish. Patterson takes a perfect touch, bang, great strike. The finish was exquisite.”

Perfect.
It was starting to feel like one of those nights in the first half.
We were all likely sitting biting our nails thinking the goal would never come with a win here guaranteeing a playoff spot.
Something we didn’t expect was Patterson to step up and fire home, just as we have seen so many times at Ibrox already.
A new manager coming in at Ibrox in the coming days and weeks is likely to give Patterson someone new to win over.
Anyone watching will be buzzing looking at Patterson and his ability to get forward, with James Tavernier likely to face stiff competition even more in the coming weeks.
Now that Stephen O’Donnell finally looks to have been replaced on the international stage, the next goal for Patterson will be to do the same in Glasgow once he returns and the domestic campaign continues.
