Simon Jordan suggests Frank Lampard would be a good fit for Rangers
Simon Jordan has suggested on talkSPORT that Frank Lampard would be a good fit at Rangers.
The Gers have confirmed today that Steven Gerrard has left the club to join Aston Villa. Gerrard has penned an emotional message on Instagram as well after making the switch.
Villa came up with a tempting offer following the sacking of Dean Smith, and Gerrard simply couldn’t refuse it.

The Scottish champions will now be looking to appoint a new manager in the coming weeks, with Giovani van Bronckhorst being tipped by many to replace Gerrard.
Jordan, however, believes that he is not sure where van Bronckhorst currently lie in the managerial chain and feels Lampard would be a smart appointment for the Gers.
The 43-year-old is currently out of work after being sacked by Chelsea in January earlier this year.
“From the stardust point of view, capability point of view, Lampard goes there. I think Lampard shoes in,” said Jordan on talkSPORT.
“He follows the blueprint they followed with Gerrard. In fact, he is less of a risk for Rangers than Gerrard was because he has done some managerial work.”
Valid point
The Ibrox outfit cannot afford to take a gamble in their appointment considering the financial situation at the club.
Lampard has got the managerial experience and would be perfect for Rangers. He did a very good job at Derby County and also at Chelsea.
He took the club to the top four when the Blues were under a transfer embargo. He blooded young players like Fikayo Tomori, Mason Mount and Tammy Abraham, and he can transform the Rangers academy as well.
Jordan is spot on that he is less of a risk than Gerrard was. Lampard was a world-class player and he will command respect from the Rangers players.
He would be a very good signing for the club, but Rangers should take time to make the right choice.
