Steven Gerrard could travel to West Midlands over international break as Rangers respond to Villa links
Rangers boss Steven Gerrard could be set to travel to the West Midlands over the international break as links to Aston Villa heat up.
The Daily Record has reported that the Premier League club are keeping their powder dry as speculation increases.
Rangers have finally responded to the links on Thursday, insisting that no contact has been made over their manager.

Jo Hendry shared the noises coming from Ibrox this evening over on her personal Twitter account, something which could calm Bears down.
“Rangers say they have received ‘no contact’ from Aston Villa regarding Steven Gerrard replacing Dean Smith,” they wrote.
“Reports suggest the Ibrox boss is on a list of potential targets to fill the vacant managers position at Villa Park.”

Brilliant… for now.
So, it seems Villa have decided against making their move early.
This doesn’t mean that all the speculation will instantly stop though, with Gerrard the name on everybody’s lips right now.
The Premier League club has time on their side right now, with the international break coming at the perfect time for them, or the worst for Rangers.
It gives them time to come up with the perfect package to entice their next manager, as well as potentially putting together a compensation deal for the Gers.
The next two weeks are going to be more hell than usual, and given the Premier League club want their new man in charge before the next game with Brighton, it could speed things up over the next seven days.
